Steepandcheap - the business model of this site is interesting, to say the least. Granted, it's a sub site of another company all together, but the concept is interesting, would never work in the Motorcycle industry, where the margins are too dinky. Motostrano may try something similar to this within our site some day.
ShopBop.com. one of my favorite clothing oriented web sites. Thanks to Natalie I know about this.
American Apparel I hate and love this web site and company. The CEO seems to be a nut, maybe that's why I have an affinity for it. I mostly return again and again to gaze at the hot young women posed seductively. The clean barebones design is a little dry, but oh those hot little things in boy shorts and stuff just make the site.
Yahoo Yea, Yahoo. After being born and raised on Yahoo oh for the last 10 years or so, I got wooed by Google last year for just about everything. But you know what? All that quick and clean search just gets a little boring after a while. Yahoo's heavy emphasis of multi-media and content approach is starting to appeal again.

Catching Up...
I set up a Flickr Account for Motostrano. After 5 years of saving photos on my hard drive, I thought to post up some or all of my photos and graphics on Flickr. Flickr is very cool.
Motostrano has renewed its support of the ROCKSTAR H&H Supermoto camp for 2008. We'll also be helping out a few other parties in the mix as time permits.
The Motostrano catalog has expanded. We try not to sell EVERYTHING. That would be a futile experiment in terrible customer service and other motorcycle parts companies do a really fine job of that. However, we have expanded our catalog to include a few more brands, as well as increased the products depth of some of our existing brands like EVS and SIXSIXONE. Joe Rocket, we've brought back GIMOTO, KLIM and even a little Fieldsheer.
After taunting us with their prototype rearsets for probably over a year, the CRG Rearsets appear to be near to release. At any moto event we'd go to Joe from CRG would have this big bulky piece of billet seemingly stashed in his pocket. He'd come up to our tent or booth like some kind of CNC drug dealer and his eyes would light up, just a little. Out popped this glittery, sparkling piece of handywork that quite simply made you wish Cyclecat was still making stuff. The product looks solid. It's been years in the making. Seems to be shipping mid January.
Other new and noteworthy stuff: the Shoei Hornet DS Helmet,
Moto-Master has produced a brake master cylinder to accompany their race brake kit.

For 2008 we'll be changing up our Blog a little. Well, a lot actually. We're going to open it up to non-Supermoto stuff, as well as Supermoto stuff of course. In a nutshell, this will just give the blog more to blog about and expand things to sport bike, adventure bike and any other category that catches our eye, whether motorcycle related or not. So, the Supermoto Blog is now the Motostrano blog.

Christmas 2007 came and went in a puff of smoke. In terms of overall operations and execution for Motostrano- it was our best ever. I judge how well Christmas goes by the amount of nasty angry Mom or girlfriend calls I pick up from irate customers wondering where their Christmas gifts wandered off to. This year was painless compared to previous years. Hats off to my team- our customer service was so good this year, all we could do was help rescue the Christmases of other shoppers who had the misfortune of ordering their stuff at some other really crappy competitors' web sites. I'll spare their names for you.
From a sales perspective, the holiday was a total bomb. 2006 was a joy ride compared to this. Sales were barely up over November, which is typically our slowest month of the year. We need to kick this downtrend and get back to business.
Highlights of the year include: my trip to Italy with Alpinestars and going to MOTOGP , hanging out "with" (in the same room) Schumacher, Stoner and Hayden at the Alpinestars camp. Having another kid, Luke. Quitting smoking.
Our New Year's resolutions include: make more money (we rarely do), take more time off, work less, ride more, spend less, eat less, drink less, love more, play more, save more. Take a vacation.

Cabazon, CA - October 30, 2007 - Despite the fact that he's nursing two broken wrists, David Pingree is determined not to sit idly by and let a national championship title slip from his grasp. After he and Brandon Currie took either first or second through the first six rounds of the 2007 AMA Supermoto Lites series (with "Ping" leading the duel 4-2), the journalist/racer was the odds-on favorite to win the crown; that is, till he bageled in Redmond with his wrist injury.
But now, with an expected "OK-to-race" from his doctor, Pingree has announced his intention to race every heat of Troy Lee's "Supermoto Mayhem at the Morongo" on Nov. 10th and 11th.
"The long break in the series has given me time to heal. My plan is to go out and race for this championship," said Troy Lee Designs team rider Pingree. "I was in great shape before my crash, although Currie was right there with me in every race. But I don't see why I can't pick it right back up where I left off. Plus my team is bringing in a hot-shot Aussie rider to help our cause. He's a coal miner by trade, believe it or not, but he's fast as hell on a supermoto bike."
Ticket prices are more than reasonable for a full weekend of racing by the world's fastest racers such as David Pingree. 3-day weekend passes are just $40 for adults, $10 for kids (4-14). Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance online at www.troyleedesigns.com or at authorized Troy Lee Designs retailers (your favorite motorcycle shop is probably a TLD dealer).
Troy Lee's "Supermoto Mayhem at the Morongo" is Southern California's last major motorcycle event of the year and a must-attend for all race fans. The final round of the 2007 AMA Pro Supermoto series will take place on Saturday, November 10, 2007, with the championship final occurring the next day on Sunday, November 11th. Preceding the weekend pro doubleheader, a promoter practice will kick things off on Thursday, November 8th, with a complete amateur race day on Friday, November 9th. 2007 Rockstar U.S. Open Results
The 2007 Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open of Motocross concluded this past weekend, with Grant Langston emerging as the overall winner, collecting a whopping $100,000.
Carey Hart's new SX team made its debut at the US Open. The team currently features former AX champion Josh Demuth, although Hart plans to add one more 450 rider as well as a lites rider. Demuth ended up going 6-2 for 3rd overall at the Open, stoking out Hart by getting on the poduim at Carey's team's very first event which was held in his hometown of Vegas.

Bigbore VS. Smallbore.....
Kick kick kick........bbbbbbbrrrraaaapp............! brrraaap. braaapppp...brrraaap ! ( feelin studley now !) ....clutch out....little squirt of gas OMG whoa...down girl down girl.......tire spin front tire off the ground...hmmmmm? tires are cold...easy on the next couple turns......straight stretch .....Bbbbbbbbbrrrraaappppp
shift shift shift shift ......whoaaaaaaaa .....hmmmmmm.......wrong brake point....shhhhhhiiiiiiiii.............dam ! This dam bigbore is much faster than I remember'd.....back end shudder goin into every corner......tire spins and front tire is lofted outa second gear corners.....! These are the thoughts that keep goin through my head.....power and speed are sooo much harder/faster than the orange 2fiddy, makes me think back when I was first learning ! Where did the corner speed go...? All I'm worrying about is gettin slowed down for the apex and god forbid hit the haybales and or fence.... I'm havin to re learn how to ride...Yyyyyuuup ! The bike ?? My husa 550 with a totally built motor...ego and seat of the pants tells me 70 hp....ok dyno test may tell a more realistic number ? the intitial ride is somewhat similar to bein on a one night stand with a gal on ludes....does it matter when you are on a bigbore ?? prolly not, its all about the riding experience.....! The 250 is so much less intense (non lowered and 38 hp) it makes me marvel at how different you have to ride the bikes....the 250 revs into the teens.. at least you know/think you are bookin...the big bores don't rev that way and with the huge torque you gather speed so much faster the corners come up almost 1 after another....with alot less fanfare....the other reality was gassin it outa the apex...carefull now, it just ain't the same...tire spin is at a hair of the throttle... at this point the 250 can be almost pinned where the 550 needs some loving to throttle coax her outa the last corner to the straight stretch...The biggest flaw in my riding style is I always dip inside of the rider infront when we leave the last corner to the straight stretch...well ok most corners.. I go down low and the 250 will hook up but lacks the needed drive to make the 250 great... my first year with the KX 500 is where I got the habit....yea the 500 when upright would smoke pretty much anything, and by the time you straighten up the power hits....
now enter the Husey... even different leaned over goin low, not catchin the best line, I have to watch the power as it will spin up...and usually the back end will slide out and I will lose the time....250's when the traction is bad you can get third gear and lug out...big bores when lugging turn knarly because it's on the torque/power curve...sooo no lugging a bigbore without being careful with the throttle....now that brings up a new thought ?? Different throttle cams and a lower profile cut on the rear ? owies ! waaay too much to think about....the next mental step is to clearly define what makes a small bore fast as well a bigbore, makes it easier when you climb on these bikes....My mental battle was startin on a 500 KX then goin to the 550 4 stroke then to a 250 then after a few months gettin back on a newly built 550......
Whats my point ? Start on a small bore 4 stroke...get the basics and place top 5 consistently in the races then graduate to a bigbore....Overall I have the most fun on the built 550...after that was the 500 2 smoker... I don't give a hoot about lap times and trophies but jusst the thrill...oooops did I mention my few trophies were on the 250.....ok you be the judge....!
First flat track event in two weeks........Further comparisons at that point.......Gotta go back to my writing lesson's now.......I'm battling with my run on sentences....

Lake Elsinore, CA - Despite canceling his 2007 Elsinore Grand Prix, event promoter Goat Breker still has every intention of attending a race that same weekend of November 9-11, by lending support to his longtime friend and fellow race promoter, Troy Lee.

"I've made sure the Elsinore GP was a fantastic experience for racers and fans, but it looks like my event will not happen this year. New Action Sports World Championship Event Takes Place April 12-13, 2008, at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium
October 10, 2007, SAN DIEGO – ESPN, The Worldwide Leader in Action Sports, the San Diego International Sports Council and Qualcomm Stadium today announced the launch of a new action sports championship event from the ESPN X Games team -- the Moto X World Championships. Redmond, OR- September 28-29
Wow! This last weekend was a rush! The dirt section was technical, leading into a fast straight away and a twisted pavement section. Many a wheel was bent and there were quite a few crashes. The weather decided to cooperate a bit more on Saturday than it did on Friday, so we didn’t completely freeze, but by the time the Main event came around Saturday evening, it was very chilly.
Doni Wanat, rider and team manager, was in Redmond a bit early, helping to design and build the track. During the Promoter practice on Friday, Doni did very well, taking it easy and testing out the track. Unfortunately, Doni only got in one good practice on Saturday before he started having problems with his bike. He finished 5th in his heat race, landing him on the 3rd row in the starting grid for the final race. Due to engine problems with his main bike, he almost didn’t make it. With his mechanic’s frantic fixes, Doni was able to ride it in the main, taking it easy because of clutch problems. He finished 11th.
Travis Marks tore through the track this weekend, racing through the turns and passing competitors up in the dirt section. During the main event, Marks took off out of row 2 in the grid like a rocket! Avoiding the pile up in the last turn before the dirt section and quickly making it up to 3rd place. Unfortunately, in the 2nd lap of the dirt section, he hit the back tire of the rider in front of him and went down, losing his momentum. He got back up and was going hard, when he suddenly slowed. It was apparent to spectators that he was taking it easy. Back in the pits after the race, we found out that the shifter was completely gone from the bike and he had been stuck in 2nd for the majority of the race. Unfortunately, in the 2nd lap of the dirt section, he hit the back tire of the rider in front of him and went down, losing his momentum. He got back up and was going hard, when he suddenly slowed. It was apparent to spectators that he was taking it easy. Back in the pits after the race, we found out that the shifter was completely gone from the bike and he had been stuck in 2nd for the majority of the race.
Due to AMA Schedule changes and other obligations, Carey Hart was unable to join us for this round, however, he will be attending the remaining races. We know our guys will have better luck next time and with the speed they’re showing. We’re looking forward to the next race in Galveston, TX and hope to see you there!!

The weekend started out with RAIN RAIN RAIN… Somehow, Marche worked
his magic and provided another successful weekend of racing in Primm , NV.
We had some awesome results for the weekend and hope to keep it up for
this next weekend’s AMA Supermoto championship race in Redmond, OR.
The weekend started off with Carey Hart and Doni Wanat winning the team
race. Carey’s weekend had its ups and downs. He took 3rd place in the
450 class but found no luck in the other races. Unfortunately, he broke a
hub and sprocket in the 25+ VET class, lost air pressure in his rear tire in
the 30+ VET, and fell in the last lap of the Open Pro main. The results just
didn’t due justice to how well Carey was riding over the weekend.
Team manager/racer, Doni Wanat, did very well in all of his races. Dealing
with nasty weather that tried to ruin the fun-filled weekend and doing a great
job with Carey in his first race of the weekend. He raced in four other
events over the course of the weekend; the 25+ Veterans class taking 3rd,
the 30+ Veterans class taking 4th, the Unlimited class taking 4th, and the
Open Pro class. Unfortunately, he took a spill in the Open Pro class,
knocking him back to 11th place. Great job Doni!!

September 6, 2007 - Corona, CA - Riders, teams and fans eager to attend Troy Lee's AMA Supermoto season championship finale at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa will be pleased to know that there should be plenty of places to stay during the November 9-11 weekend.
"Most of the supermoto people will want to stay at Morongo so a number of rooms have been blocked for us," said event promoter Troy Lee, president and founder of Troy Lee Designs. "They will go quickly but there are many hotels within close proximity to Morongo and we'll identify a bunch of them on our website www.troyleedesigns.com."
Morongo is offering a five night weekend Supermoto event room package - Wednesday-Monday - at $875.00 as well as a four night package - Thursday-Monday - for $760.00. Room packages include Deluxe King or Deluxe Queen for up to 4 people. Complimentary shuttle from hotel to race site, and the outlet mall.
Four and five night RV parking packages are $200 and $250 respectively, they include reserved space in the RV area, use of Morongo Resort facilities including pool, restaurants, spa, and fitness center. Hart, Dymond, Marks, Wanat at Nashville
With its unique layout and banked corners, no one can deny that the Nashville track is the one of the fastest and toughest tracks in the Championships scheduled this year! The track was a quick one, with concrete walls on its high banks clearly playing to the strengths of those with a background in flat track. Our riders adapted quickly. Using the banks to gain maximum speed and deftly avoiding the impact points which caused a few hard crashes during the weekend event.
All Access Racing and Motostrano.com/JSTRacing sponsored rider Mickey Dymond didn’t have good fortune during his qualifier. Dymond, The winner of the last AMA Supermoto event, already riding on his backup bike, got into a high speed impact crash with Ben Carlson of the Aprilia team during the 2nd lap of the heat race. This left both bikes damaged, too damaged to compete. The heat race was red-flagged and luckily, the Rockstar/Hart & Huntington team was allowed to loan Carey Hart’s backup bike to Mickey. A quick change here and there and Mickey was allowed to run a motorcycle that enabled him to finish 7th in the heat race and 8th in the final event, enough to salvage valuable points toward the championship.
A big THANK YOU to Carey and the Hart and Huntington crew, and all who were involved in getting Mickey back on track. Congratulations Mickey!!
Back to the 450 Premiere class; despite the long weekend and working around the unusual setup for this track, Carey Hart is creeping up in points in the 450 class and had a great race on Saturday. He qualified the heat race without any issues, getting a feel for the track and getting his lines through the corners down, finishing in 8th place. During the main event, Carey pushed hard as he moved confidently up the grid to bring an 11th place finish to the team and stepped up his position in the Championship to 14th place. He’s looking forward to the remainder of the season and some more technical tracks.
In the Unlimited class, Travis Marks and Doni Wanat did well, bringing a 6th and 12th place respectively to the team.
Travis had to switch to his back-up bike during the mid-day practice session due to engine problems with his primary bike The race went on, despite being scored an entire lap down because of an AMA transponder malfunction. After filing a protest
challenging the posted results, the final result was corrected and a well deserved 6th place was rewarded to Marks. Travis not only moved up in the Championship to 6th place, he is now only 13 points away from 3rd overall in the unlimited championship.Keeping a close eye on the temperature Doni didn’t have any problems during the race, although he did express a dislike for the treacherous track. Showing determination and consistency he maintained his 9th place in the series. Doni’s looking forward to the next four races to move up in points and score better results for the team and combined Team Championship.

Street Races are very cool.....
As I find myself sprinting across the street I'm thinking to myself, wow these Sidi sliders actually provide pretty darn good traction ! no sooner had that thought left my mind I was aboard my bike kicking it to start the race....kick-kick-kick-kick-kick-kick-kick-kick as I hear my teammate yelling at me... go go go go go go go go.........bbbbraaaap finally !! Drop the clutch and off to turn one I go........cold front tire pushing as I try the inside on three guys, cool !, three gone...turn two I got two more and was able to hold a good spot goin into the next two turns as I'm trying to get a drive on the next two bikes at the beginning of the back straight which is a drag race....up inside I go, pinned laying on the bike trying to get every ounce of speed out of the little 250 which is reving her brains out. As I cross the rough section I loosen up on my grip to try to get the speed wobble out, no sooner had I done this and two of the 450's I passed get by me....DAM ! three deep into the next corner, I managed to eek out ahead but I get out powered down a short chute but I re pass on the inside again going into the slowest corner which leads to the one and only urban jump.....two more corners I stay ahead till the last corner before another long drag race of a straight.....I get passed by the same two riders plus another......curse curse curse....wish I had my 550...grrrrrr......after 15 minutes the white flag waves in front of my bike and just after the guys I was trying to hang with...woo hoo..happy days, so off to the staging area I go in first gear trying to maintain a slower speed which is part of the race rules...up ahead is my partner, who at 15 yrs old happens to be one of the fastest guys in our series.....as we bang boots (have to tag off, his engine was revving ready to go) Jacob takes off like the Tasmanian devil goin sideways into turn one....I can imagine him muttering to himself @@##&&^^%%**!! that dam bike of Brian's was starting in 1 kick before....I tried to watch as much of the track as possible to see how my boy was doing, as always the cold tires didn't slow him down too much and the track temp was warm enough that he was going like a madman.....He was litterly flying...
Two sessions apiece and the race is over......I started, he finished...prolly a good thing as we won quite convincingly......or should I say he won........Won what, you ask ?..... well here's the deal...last weekend we shared an event called the Hub City Grand Prix http://www.hubcitygrandprix.com/hcgp/schedule.php with the karter's and they put up a really cool street track through and around the local college in Centralia WA. Which is located 1.5 hrs south of Seattle. So basically we took over the neighbourhood for two days.....The first race was on Saturday afternoon which was a team race which is what I described above....The idea is there is a "Le man's" start which means your bike is turned off and located across the street with your teammate holding it...You dash across the street, jump on and fire the bike. You race for 15 minutes doing as many laps as you can in that time period, when the time is up a white flag comes out showing you to the staging area where your teammate is waiting with his bike revving...tag off and the new rider tears onto the track for another 15 minutes then comes in tags off again with the starting rider, repeating this process once more, so both riders get two sessions each.....which means one guy starts and the other finishes......Being a street coarse it took awhile for us to get accustomed to man hole covers, cross walks, grass growing between the cracks, not to mention stop signs and speed limit signs....Wooo Hooo, I felt like such a hooligan for the first half day, after that it was heads down racing as usual....I will do this next year but with my big bore, as this race is all about power and speed.......

AMA Supermoto in Hartford, CT

The 5th round of the AMA Supermoto Championship is sure to be remembered as one of
the best races of the season! It’s all over the internet and in all the race reports, it was a fantastic race! Congratulations Congratulations to Motostrano/JSTracing sponsored rider Micky Dymond of All Access Communications for a well deserved win!
We’re coming back to the Championships after a six week break where Cary Hart participated in X-Games 13 and the team tested their new equipment. We’re moving up in points and expecting strong finishes from all of our riders.
In the first practice session for the 450 Supermoto class, Cary lost a clamp bolt and was only able to complete 2 laps before having to return to the pits. He had more mechanical issues in the 2nd practice session so didn’t qualify for a good position in the qualifying grid. Regardless he pulled up and finished in 13th place for the race and maintained his 15th position in the series.
Travis Marks and his mechanic are still making improvements to his bike and hope to be done by next weekend! Travis sustained some lower back injuries during the practice sessions, but pulled through to finish 8th. Being in 7th place in the Supermoto Unlimited class series, puts Travis only 11 points away from the 3rd place position, giving him a good shot for a top 3 in the series.
Doni Wanat did well in practice, earning a starting position mid-way in the grid. Maintaining a steady pace in the Unlimited class, he was able to pull up through the pack to finish 10th with a 9th place in the series so far. With Doni’s consistency and attitude he is a great asset to the team, both as a rider and Team Manager.
We’d love to see you this next weekend in Nashville for round 6 of the AMA Championships.

Ten Year Old Starting Petition to Change Helmet Law
Boise, Idaho -- A motorcycle accident took the life of a Boise man last week and now his 10-year old daughter is on a campaign to change Idaho's helmet law. The Chapman Family says their father and husband would be enjoying his daily routine today had he been wearing head protection. Emily Chapman is now adamant about requiring bikers to wear helmets, so she's starting a petition drive to try and change state law. "They had to do more operations to stop the swelling, they had to open up his head," said Julie Chapman, who lost her husband in the motorcycle accident. Julie describes how they tried to save her 43-year-old husband, Shane, this past weekend.She says Shane was riding his motorcycle last Thursday night on Fairview, east of Maple Grove.
Boise Police confirm a car pulled out of the Pop-eye's Fried Chicken parking lot trying to turn left when Shane was approaching. "When she pulled out, he lost control, trying not to run into her. He flipped as he tried to lay down the bike and it catapulted him," said Julie. Shane was not wearing a helmet. The Chapman's say he died from massive trauma to the brain. Married for 15 years, Julie now has to make funeral arrangements and tell her youngest the devastating news. "Katy is only 4. "I'm going to send it in to the governor and see what he does. If it doesn't work, I'll keep doing it," said Emily.

Dymond shines at New England Supermoto

All Access Racing’s Micky Dymond earned his first-ever AMA Red Bull Supermoto race victory following a wild 20-lap final at Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, CT.
It was obvious the race would be a hectic and unpredictable affair right from the start, as championship favorites Jeff Ward and Mark Burkhart collided in the race’s opening corner, pushing the series’ top two riders to the back of the field almost as early as they got the green light.
Heat 2 race winner Troy Herfoss on the HMC KTM took advantage of their misfortune early, concluding the first lap in first position. His time at the front was short lived, however, as a mishap of his own knocked the Aussie down to 20th position on the very next lap.
Factory Aprilia star Ben Carlson was next, leading laps two and three before falling down the order (and ultimately out of the race). Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Robbie Horton inherited the lead, but only for a lap before dropping outside the top five himself as the racing incidents continued to mount.
Mach 1 Motorsports’ Steve Drew provided the race with a sense of order, holding down first place for a seven-lap run, before finally conceding the position to former AMA 125 Motocross champ Dymond, who proved that Troy Lee Designs’ reigning class champion, Ward, isn’t the only rider in the field capable of outrunning youth thanks to a healthy dose of experience.
Once moving into the lead on lap 12, Dymond wouldn’t surrender the position and grabbed the checkered flag with a 3.649-second margin of victory to pick up his first win since swapping KTMs for Hondas and focusing on the premier class after earlier winning four races and a series title in the Unlimited category.
Afterwards, Dymond said, "I am the most surprised guy here. All race I really did not know what place I was in. The sun made a glare on my pit board so I could not read it. I battled the whole time coming from mid-pack and thought the leaders were gone way out front -- this sport is amazing. I want to thank everyone over the years for all their support."
Ward made a remarkable recovery to work all the up to second at the flag, just ahead of young Aussie Herfoss, who made a similar climb up through the field.
Ward remarked, "Burkhart got in to me off the start. Once I saw it was him, I tried to get going quick and never gave up until the checkers. The whole race I did not know the place I was in. It feels great to be able to battle back up front after that. Micky is a great guy, I am happy for him to get a win."
Herfoss commented, "I got a good start but I lost it in the sand and hit the wall pretty hard and had to push my bike up the next jump to start it. I rode as hard as I could and tried to catch Wardy and Micky, but ran out of laps. I want to thanks HMC KTM. A win will come soon guys".
Drew just missed out on the podium in fourth, with Georgian Horton completing the top five.
Graves Motorsports Yamaha ace Burkhart did his best to minimize the damage considering his early race fall, which was compounded by a spill earlier in the day that injured his shoulder. The Ohioan finished in sixth, and while he lost his championship lead in the process, he remains in striking distance, just three points removed from Ward, 111-108.
Carlson’s Factory Aprilia Rip It Energy Racing teammate, Darryl Atkins, guided his RXV450 to seventh, followed by CHM Exhaust’s Jason Conlon, Supermoto Depot’s Gray Tracy and Troy Lee Designs-backed Jason McDonald, who rounded out the top ten.
The AMA Supermoto Championship will be back in action in just a week’s time, as the series picks back up at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville, TN September 1-2.

All Access Racing’s Micky Dymond earned his first-ever AMA Red Bull Supermoto race victory following a wild 20-lap final at Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, CT.
It was obvious the race would be a hectic and unpredictable affair right from the start, as championship favorites Jeff Ward and Mark Burkhart collided in the race’s opening corner, pushing the series’ top two riders to the back of the field almost as early as they got the green light.
Heat 2 race winner Troy Herfoss on the HMC KTM took advantage of their misfortune early, concluding the first lap in first position. His time at the front was short lived, however, as a mishap of his own knocked the Aussie down to 20th position on the very next lap.
Factory Aprilia star Ben Carlson was next, leading laps two and three before falling down the order (and ultimately out of the race). Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Robbie Horton inherited the lead, but only for a lap before dropping outside the top five himself as the racing incidents continued to mount.

Morongo Casino & Troy Lee to host AMA Season Finale
August 23, 2007 - Following up on last year's highly regarded AMA pro supermoto season finale at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Troy Lee and company are heading inland for this year's two-day racing finale to the spectacular Morongo Casino Resort & Spa.
Located along Highway 10 in Cabazon, California between Riverside and Palm Springs, motorcycle friendly Morongo has welcomed the November supermoto event with open arms, as well as plenty of open space to accommodate another of the inventive racetrack layouts that has become a signature of Troy Lee's events.
The Morongo Resort ( www.morongo.com) is one of the original California tribal gaming faciliti es and after undergoing a massive $250 million upgrade in 2004, was transformed into an award-winning 4-Diamond destination resort. The property boasts 310 deluxe rooms and suites, many with spectacular mountain vistas and canyon views, and a bevy of fine restaurants and nightclubs that will delight racers, teams and fans alike when they aren't out at the track enjoying the bar-to-bar supermoto action.

Preceding the weekend pro doubleheader, a promoter practice will kick things off on Thursday, November 8th, with a complete amateur race day on Friday, November 9th.

Final 2007 AMA Supermoto Round and Pro Championship Race will take place in Southern California November 9-11
August 16, 2007 - Corona, CA - For the second consecutive year, Troy Lee Designs will stage the AMA pro Supermoto finale in Southern California. But this year, they're going to "make it a double" - a double-header that is, with the 9th qualifying round of the series taking place on Saturday, November 10, 2007 and the finale occurring the following day on Sunday, November 11th. This year the venue will move away from the ocean to a new location in the greater Los Angeles region to be formally announced next week.
To great reviews, TLD hosted the 2006 AMA season championship final - "Troy Lee's Duel at the Docks" - at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. But for 2007 the Fall event moves to an exciting new venue.
"Months ago we considered returning to the Queen Mary but they're in flux now and we would be unable to produce a quality event like we did last year," said Lee. "The ship's up for auction and looking for new ownership. When that happens my team and I will be happy to discuss another event. Until then we've pursued a new venue that our racers, sponsors, and fans will really enjoy."

"We're on great terms with the City of Long Beach and look forward to producing another race there in the future," offered Troy Lee Designs GM Bob Weber. "One of the best aspects of supermoto racing is that it's moldable and you can be creative, depending on the location. And the group we're finalizing details with right now enables us to put together the best supermoto double-header race weekend ever. It will be amazing!"
The tentative schedule for the November event calls for pro and amateur practice on Thursday, 11/8; amateur practice and racing on Friday, 11/9; pro practice and the 9th round of AMA Supermoto series racing on Saturday, 11/10; and the AMA pro championship finale taking place on Sunday 11/11.
And of course, courtesy of one of the motorsports industry's most creative minds, Troy Lee and his world-class event production team, supermoto racers and fans can expect another innovative track design and spectacular event."
"It will definitely be a weekend of awesome entertainment," said Lee. "Next week we plan to reveal the fantastic venue we're working with and as our plans unfold we will be announcing a few additional surprises that the racers and fans will love."
As was the case for last year's final weekend, a core group of sponsors have lined up quickly to support the racing event including Honda, Red Bull, Parts Unlimited, Weekened Warrior, Oakley, PPG, Mattel Hotwheels, and the motorcycle world's official beer, MotoBrew.
