AMA: Johnny Lewis Signed for the 2007

Team KTM HMC lineup for 2007 is complete with the signing of Pennsylvania based Johnny Lewis for the 2007 AMA Supermoto Unlimited Championship presented by Parts Unlimited. The factory team is set for the start of the season and consists of Johnny Lewis, Kurt Nicoll and Brian Capper competing in Supermoto Unlimited and Troy Herfoss running the Supermoto 450cc championship.

2007 begins the third year that Team KTM HMC has retained the services of the lighting fast Johnny Lewis. In 2006 Lewis won his first race at the high banks of the Music City Motorplex in Nashville, TN and rode his KTM 610 Unlimited race bike to 4th in the points.

During the off season I’ve been increasing my endurance and improving my dirt skills. I’m working with a personal trainer specifically for Supermoto and I am in the best racing shape of my life.
- Johnny Lewis

Lewis will consider his year a success by improving on his 2006 standings. He’s gunning for the ultimate prize, the 2007 Unlimited Championship.

I am excited to have Johnny Lewis returning for the third season. Where last season our strategy was to not loose position in the dirt, with his improved motocross skills, Lewis will be able to strike in the dirt or on the asphalt.
