FIM: Husqvarna off to Good Start

The first round of the 2007 Supermoto World Championship held in Castelletto di Branduzzo last week end was quite successful for the Husqvarna CH Racing team.

Victory was missing, but the team, riders and bikes got important results for the next championship’s rounds. Husqvarna got the second and third places in S1 class (450) thanks to a brilliant performance of the Chareyre Brothers, while Belgian rider Gerald Delepine was second in S2 class (600).

In S1 class, both Adrien and Thomas proved to be young but enough experienced to chase the week end winner Thierry Van Den Bosch. Adrien got two second placed preceding in both heats the younger brother Thomas on third position. Two bad starts in the back lines conditioned Max Manzo performance who was back to the racing right last week end after a pause to recover form the injury occurred during the first Italian round.

In S2 class Gerald Delepine had an hard week end in which was constantly in the fight with his rivals. Gerald wasn’t 100% physically due to a pain to his back, so the rider could not go any further than third position. He’s now second in the provisional classification and 4 points from leader Attiglio Pigniotti.

Overall classifications:

S1: 1. Van Den Bosch (Aprilia) p. 50, 2. Adrien Chareyre (Husqvarna) p. 44, 3. Thomas Chareyre (Husqvarna) p. 40.
S2: 1.Pignotti (KTM) p. 44, 2. Delepine (Husqvarna) p. 40, 3. Iddon (Aprilia ) p. 37.
